Doris L. ( Dumont) Barnabe, 81 of Bardsley Street Fall River died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Romeo Barnabe, and also the Close companion of Al Laprise of Fall River. She was born August 26, 1924 in Fall River a daughter of the late Luke & Yvonne ( Boucher) Dumont.

She was a Seamstress for various mills in the Fall River area for many years before retiring. She has been a lifelong Fall River resident, a parishioner of Notre Dame Church, where she sang in choir. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union ( I.L.G.W.U.) . Member of Mothers of Twins Club of Fall River, where she was a past officer, past officer of American Canadian Assoaciation ( A.C.A). She also enjoyed playing Bingo, was an avid reader, had enjoyed spending time with her multitude of friends.

She is survived by her close companion Al Laprise of Fall River, a son Donald M Barnabe of Laguna Beach California, 3 daughters Denise M Shaughnessy of Fall River, Michelle Laflamme of Somerset, Nanette M Moreau of Leesburg Virginia, 3 brothers Maurice Dumont of Fall River, Richard Dumont of Fall River, Paul Dumont of Fall River, 2 sisters Jeanne Fournier of Lady Lake Florida, Helena Chouinard of Westport MA, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rene Dumont, Robert Dumont, and also the late Gert Baraby.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 8:30am from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Notre Dame Church , 529 Eastern Avenue Fall River, burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, january 4, 2006 from 4 - 8 pm.
