Diocleciana O'Connell

DARTMOUTH, MA – Diocleciana "Sana" (Stone) O'Connell, 87, of Slocum Road in Dartmouth, formerly of Westport, MA, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Daciano M.C. and Maria (Miranda) Stone, she was the wife of sixty years to Vincent O’Connell.

Mrs. O’Connell graduated with the Class of 1937 of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River. Mrs. O’Connell worked for a time as a typist for the City of Fall River, and then spent most of her time raising her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fall River.

Besides her husband, Mrs. O’Connell is survived by a daughter, Melanie O’Connell of Dartmouth; four brothers, Decio Stone of Sunset Beach, NC, Daciano W. Stone of Swansea, Orlando Stone of Fayetteville, PA, and Edward Stone of Morris Plains, NJ.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2007, at 10:00AM in the HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., FALL RIVER. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
