View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Michael R. Rizzo, 67, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. Born in Boston, the son of the late Augustino and Mildred (Collarusso) Rizzo, he was the husband of the late Joan T. (McPhee) Rizzo and was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton.
Mr. Rizzo was educated in the Boston Public Schools and attended Northeastern University. A barber for more than forty-six years, he had been a barber for the past thirteen years at Don’s Barber Shop in Hanson. He also had his real estate license. He enjoyed playing the guitar and visiting the dog track and casinos, but his greatest pleasure was being with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Jean Webber and her husband Walter of East Wareham; and two sons, James Rizzo of Taunton and Michael Rizzo of Bangor, ME; and the father-in-law of Bonnie Rizzo. He was the grandfather of Michael, Thomas, Marie, Elizabeth, and Samantha Rizzo and Walter Webber; and the great-grandfather of Paul Guzman, Angel and Mia Rizzo; and the brother of Mario Rizzo of Brockton and the late Rosemarie D’Andragora. He was the uncle of several.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church, 370 Middleboro Ave., East Taunton Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at 9:00AM. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston. Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 8, from 4:00-8:00PM in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton.
