FALL RIVER, MA – Edna M. (Williams) Reid, 85, a resident of Fall River for most of her life, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Adams House in Fall River. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Walter F. and Mildred (Edwards) Williams, she was the wife of the late Robert Burns Reid, III. While employed at the bank, she developed a keen interest in financial investment functions that she carried into her personal life. In retirement she was a volunteer at Charlton Memorial Hospital for twelve years. Edna was a member and director of the Fall River Symphony Society and was a co-founder of the South Coast Opera Club. Mrs. Reid and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending summer days at Third Beach Club in Newport with their daughters.
