Mathilda Rose (Brie) Thornber

WILLIMANTIC, CT – Mathilda “Tillie” Thornber of Columbia, CT, formerly of New Bedford, MA, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband James R. Thornber and her eldest son James S. Thornber. Born in Dartmouth, the daughter of the late Alfred and the late Rose (Belanger) Brie, she was adopted and raised by Dona and Laura (St. George) Tessier.

She is survived by two sons, Robert M. Thornber of Windsor, MA, and Carl R. Thornber of Vancouver, WA; and a daughter, Patricia Jenkins of Columbia, CT. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Calling hours will be held from 9:30 until 11:00AM Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by a funeral service conducted in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Bedford.
