Richard S Williams, 79 years old, died in Morton Hospital Taunton on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 after a period of failing health. Born in Taunton he was the son of the late Henry and Gertrude (Brady) Williams.

He was educated in Taunton and was a US Navy Vet of WWII serving in the Pacific. He was employed as an Attendent at the former Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton and also worked in the Silver industry and as Security officer, both in the Taunton area.

As a youth he played semi pro football for the Taunton Herringrunners and maintained an active interest in spots especially football. He was member of the VFW Post 611 in Taunton and enjoyed visiting his son and grandson in NY. He liked to do woodworking also.

He leaves his son Richard Williams of Scarsdale, NY his grandson, Henry Williams of Scarsdale and one sister, Dorothea Williams of Taunton. He was also the former husband of the late Margaret (Yelle) Lagace Williams.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Ave.,(Route 138 South) Taunton on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 10AM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, East Taunton, MA. Calling hours are on Friday, November 25, 2005 from 2-6 PM.
