View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON/NORTON – Doris E. (Rylander) Walkden, 100, widow of the late Samuel Walkden, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, in the EPOCH Senior Healthcare in Norton. Born in Framingham, a daughter of the late William and Eliza (Drury) Rylander, she was educated in Taunton Public Schools.
Mrs. Walkden was last employed by the former Weir Co-Operative Bank and the Mechanics Bank of Taunton as a teller.
She belonged to the Rose Croix Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, the Elizabeth Poole Rebekak Lodge, and was a past musician of the Rebekak Assembly of Massachusetts. She was a member of the North Side Methodist Church of St. Petersbury, FL, and also was a member of the North Taunton Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Davidson of Taunton; and her sons, William Walkden and his wife Myrtle of Taunton and John Walkden of East Freetown. She was the mother-in-law of the late Lois Walkden; and the grandmother of Wayne Walkden of Taunton, Scott Walkden of Worcester, Susan Grundy of Berkley, Lynn Kelly of Hyannis, Robbyn Bradner of Palm Bay, FL, and Christine Walkden of East Freetown, and the late Jeffrey Walkden; the great-grandmother of eleven and the great-great-grandmother of one. She was the sister of the late Janice Rylander and the best friend of the late Muriel Reilly and her family.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton, on Monday, September 10, 2007, at 11:00AM.
