Millicent E. (Reece) Beals

FAIRHAVEN – Millicent E. (Reece) Beals, 82, of Fairhaven, died of kidney failure Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the Royal in Fairhaven. She was the wife of George A. Beals. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Blanche (Patnaude) Reece, she was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven and a member of the First Congregational Church in Fairhaven.

Mrs. Beals taught ceramics and also dance, both tap and ballet, all for which she had a great love. She was also a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dartmouth Chapter.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Dennis E. Beals and his wife Elmira of Westport; two grandchildren, David Beals of Boston and Lynn Cordero and her husband Scott of Providence, RI; a great-grandson, Lucas Cordero; a sister, Ann Cochran and her husband James of Fairhaven; and a brother-in-law, Albert Borges of Fairhaven; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beals was the sister of the late Pearl Borges.

Funeral Information

In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated and a private graveside service was held in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven.
