BELTON, SC – Ashley Tabares, 19, formerly of New Bedford, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, in Belton, SC. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Oscar Tabares and Lucy Ramirez, both of New Bedford, she lived in the city before moving to Belton a year and a half ago to attend Greenville Tech to become a veterinarian. She loved animals and her job at the Doggy Day Care.

She is survived by her parents; her fiancé, Brandon Correia of Belton, SC; a brother, Steven Tabares of New Bedford; a half brother, Oscar D. Tabares of New Bedford; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at 9:00AM from the DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Lawrence Martyr Church, New Bedford. Interment will follow the funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Cemetery #2, New Bedford. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00-8:000PM.
