View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SWANSEA – Mary B. (Benavedes) Viveiros, 96, of Swansea, formerly a fifty year resident of Somerset, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia (Correia) Benavedes, she was the wife of the late John A. Viveiros.
Mrs. Viveiros worked in the garment industry in Fall River for over thirty years and devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed crocheting, singing, cooking, gardening, and traveling to the Bahamas. Mary “Voa” enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as they were her true joy in life.
Mrs. Viveiros is survived by her loving family members: a daughter, Mary V. Jackson of Swansea; a granddaughter, Lynne J. Kinzel of Swansea; and two great-grandchildren, William and Dana. She was the loving sister of the late Laura Borges, Rosalina Pacheco, and Daniel Benavedes.
Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at 10:00AM in Saint Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and should report directly to the Church. Entombment will follow the Mass in the Mausoleum in Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River. Calling hours will be omitted. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River.
