View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Helen J. ( Sroka) Gadbois, 89, of Cherry Lane Swansea , died Saturday at the Catholic Memorial Home Fall River. She was the wife of the late Alfred T Gadbois. She was born February 10, 1917 in Fall River a daughter of the late Stanislaw & Anna ( Micalek) Sroka.
She was a Sewer for the Scnierson's Manufacturing Company for over 20 years before retiring in the 1970's. Helen was a Swansea resident for the last 10 years coming from Somerset, she was a parishioner of St Francis of Assisi Church ( Formerly Our Lady of Fatima). She enjoyed Knitting, Crocheting, reading, and loved to travel with her husband.
She is survived by a son, Alfred J. Gadbois of Swansea, 2 daughters Elaine Gadbois of Swansea, Barbara Brochu of Warren RI. Grandmother of Mark Brochu, Tracey Gadbois, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Sroka, Pauline Tansey, Mary Weiler, Jenny Viana, Loretta Almeida. She was the mother of the late Joseph “ Joey” Gadbois. She was the mother in law of the late Dick Brochu.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30am from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., SOMERSET, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church 530 Gardners Neck Road Swansea, burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Tuesday from 4 - 7 pm.
