TAUNTON – Mary Jo (De Sousa) Canales, 49, died unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, April 22, 2008. She is survived by her children, Mary Jo Barrios, Mark Canales, and Ameer Khaafid, all of Taunton, and Jalilah Khaafid and Amirah Khaafid, both of New York; her mother, Alice De Sousa of Taunton, and her siblings, Joe DeSousa, Maria Reves, Anna Paula De Sousa, Maria De Sousa and Sara De Sousa, all of Taunton. She was the grandmother of three, the aunt of several and niece of two.
