Lena (Carrera) Gobell

KINGSTON, MA – Lena (Carrera) Gobell, 97, of Chipman Way in Kingston, died Friday, February 8, 2008, at the Wingate Nursing Home. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Secondo and Margaret (Giolito) Carrera, she was the wife of the late Paul S. Gobell.

Mrs. Gobell worked as a secretary for Revere Copper for many years and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Saint Lawrence Church and a 1928 graduate of New Bedford High School.

She leaves one son, Paul R. Gobell and his wife Jane of Kingston; one daughter, Jane Felsman and her husband John of Norwalk, CT; one sister, Lydia Riley of New Bedford; and four grandchildren, Robert and Brian Gobell of Kingston, and Jennifer and Richard Felsman of Norwalk, CT. Mrs. Gobell was the mother of the late Bonnie Charlotte Gobell and the sister of the late Richard Carrera and Jennie Brun.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 8:45AM from THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Lawrence Church, County and North Street. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, Dartmouth Street. Calling hours will be held Monday from 3:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
