View Tribute and Sign Guestbook ATTLEBORO – Elmer E. Nadow, 81, of East Street, Attleboro, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham, MA. Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Elmer E. and Bernice E. (Wilcox) Nadow, he was the devoted husband of fifty-eight years of Lena A. (Alessandro) Nadow.
A resident of Attleboro since 1946, having relocated previously from North Attleboro, Mr. Nadow served with the U. S. Navy as a Seaman First Class aboard the USS Wasatch during WWII. He was employed as a warehouse co-ordinator for the former Texas Instruments Company of Attleboro from 1943 until retiring in 1986, at which time he went to work for the Willow Tree Poultry Farm in Attleboro for fifteen years.
He had been a member of Samson WW II Navy Veterans, Inc. of Samson, NY. His favorite pastimes were watching TV, history and collecting War books. He was an avid golfer and a sports fan and was particularly fond of the Boston Red Sox. He followed all of the Attleboro High School sports and was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Wayne E. Nadow of Littleton, MA, and Mark P. and his wife Michelle L. Nadow of Chelsea, MA; three daughters, Linda L. and her late husband Henry J. DeArruda of Attleboro, Lorna M. and her husband Robert M. Love of Attleboro, and Leslie N. and her husband Robert N. Sahagian of Uxbridge. MA; two sisters, Vivian Arruda of Attleboro and Marilyn A. Smith, both of North Attleboro; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Norman A. Nadow and Jennette A. Hynes.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, with a Prayer Service at 10:00AM in THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152), in Attleboro. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
