FALL RIVER – Ophelia Blanche (Souza) Rego, 92, of Highland Avenue, Fall River, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Manuel & Alexandria (Cabral) Souza, she was the wife of the late Americo Rego. Mrs. Rego worked as a seamstress for various mills in the area for over forty years before retiring. A resident of Fall River for the past ten years, having relocated from Swansea, she had been a parishioner of St. John of God Church in Somerset. She is survived by a son, David Rego of Somerset; and two daughters, Suzanne Lial of Fall River and Alexandria Levasseur of Tiverton, RI. She was the grandmother of Kristine, Stephen, Denise, Diane, and Ryan; and the great-grandmother of nine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Antone Souza, Manuel Souza, Georgina Roies, Mamie Souza, and the late Charlotte Dias. Funeral InformationHer funeral will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at 8:30 am from THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in the Chapel of the Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Avenue, Fall River, with burial to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
