Francis J. Osenkowski

TAUNTON–Francis J. Osenkowski, 90, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, in the Golden Living Center in Attleboro, following a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, the son of the late Josef and Agatha (Bochnak) Osenkowski, he was the husband of Florence (Soule) Osenkowski, to whom he was married more than forty-five years.

Frank was educated in the Taunton Public Schools and was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Taunton, where he served as an usher. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Europe. He is remembered as a very good baseball player and was a member of an All Star Team that toured Army bases in Italy.

Mr. Osenkowski was employed as a custodian by Bay State Gas Company for many years. In his youth he played softball for the former Ward Eight Team and later coached and umpired for the Eastern Little League in Taunton. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, both in Taunton.

He was the step-father of Claudia Andrade of Taunton and the father of Marica Lee Osenkowski, an infant who died many years ago. He was the grandfather of Kimberly Andrade of Providence and the great-grandfather of Sarai and Asha, both of Providence. Frank was the brother of the late Genevieve Silva, Ludvig Osenkowski, John Osenkowski and Albina Gracia.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Wednesday, April 7, at 11:00AM. A visiting hour will be held an hour before the funeral, from 10:00 to 11:00AM in the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.
