George Gabbour

July 17, 1929 - November 26, 2005

George Gabbour., 76, of Gardners Neck Road in Swansea passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends at the Somerset Ridge Nursing Center in Somerset on Saturday, November 26, 2005. He was the husband of fifty-five years to Ruth A. (Shaker) Gabbour. Born in Fall River, MA on July 17, 1929 the son of the late Thomas and Martha (Attar) Gabbour.

He was the owner of Honda of Swansea and Swansea Auto Sales for many years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Saint Anthony of the Desert Church in Fall River, the Lebanese American Society, and was one of the founders of the Swansea Ambulance Corp.

Survivors beside his wife of fifty-five years are three daughters: Cynthia A. Carreiro of Swansea, MA, Sheila M. Brisbon of Little Compton, RI and Cheryl Conroy of Swansea, MA, two sisters Alice Coury of Fall River, MA Mary George of Swansea, MA and six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ann Gabbour, Joseph and Gabriel Gabbour.

Funeral Information

A funeral mass of the Divine Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 10am in Saint Anthony of the Desert Church 300 North Eastern Ave. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
