NEW BEDFORD – Oleivia A. "Lei" (O'Hara) Weeks, 86, of New Bedford, passed away after a period of declining health Friday, June 4, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, while surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Lawrence J. Weeks, who died in 1993 and with whom she shared a forty-eight year marriage. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William J. and the late Alice A. (Brown) O’Hara, she was a graduate of New Bedford High School and the former Kinyon Campbell Business School.

“Grannie Goose,” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved Pemaquid Point, Maine, and made numerous trips to Maine. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed genealogy.

She is survived by her children, Michele Rodriques and her husband Thomas of New Harbor, Maine, Lawrence J. Weeks and his wife Terry and Alice C. Weeks, all of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Kerran Ascoli and her husband Joseph of Cranston, RI, Kellie Anderson and her husband Mark of Franklin, Caitlyn Santos and her husband Joshua of New Bedford and Nathan Rodrigues of Wakefield, RI; and her great grandchildren, Norah and Colin Anderson of Franklin and Brenna Santos of New Bedford.

Funeral Information
