Maria D. (Rocha) Nunes, 83 years old, died in Morton Hospital on July 10, 2006, after a period of failing health. Born in Portugal, a daughter of the late Joao and Maria (dosSantos) Rocha. Mrs. Nunes was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church she is the widow of Manuel Nunes.

She was the mother of Herculano Nunes, Arnaldo Nunes, Mary Jo Cosmo, Teresinha Vargus, Conceicao Fontes, Joao Nunes, Manuel Nunes, Cristina Silva all of Taunton and Cristiano Nunes of New Bedford, grandmother of 18 and great grandmother of 7. She is also survived by several sisters, brothers,

Funeral Information

Mrs. Nunes funeral will be held from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., (route 138 South) Taunton on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 from 6-9PM in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., (Route 138 South) Taunton. Interment will be in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton.
