Laura Lamas

Laura (Almeida) Lamas, 95, of New Bedford died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Sacred Heart Nursing Home, New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Antonio S. Lamas.
Born in New Bedford the daughter of the late John and the late Joaquina (Silva) Almeida, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Lamas had worked at Goodyear and later Aerovox in New Bedford. She was a member of the Martha Briggs Educational Club and enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Livramento and her husband Lavell and Antoinette Lomba and her husband Antone Cruz all of New Bedford; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lamas was the mother of the late John D. Lomba and sister of the late Mary Reis.

Her calling hours are Monday, April 17, 2006 from 3-5 PM in the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford. All other arrangements are private.
