Virginia (Travers) Madigan

TAUNTON – Virginia (Travers) Madigan, 72, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after an illness of six months. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Edith (Haskell) Travers, she was educated in the Taunton Public Schools and was last employed by Di Mo Manufacturing Co. in Middleboro for the past eighteen years.

Ms. Madigan previously worked at Decas Cranberry Corp. in Lakeville and at the Mansfield Chocolate Factory. Virginia enjoyed visiting casinos, scratching lottery tickets, and following the Red Sox and the Patriots.

She is survived by her siblings, Donald Travers of Florida, Carol Lopes and her husband Edward of Bridgewater, Ann Wambolt and her husband Newell of Lakeville, Rhonda McMann and her husband Robert of East Taunton. Virginia was also the sister of the late Dianne Wetherell and Benjamin Travers, Jr., and she was the aunt of several. Virginia was the wife of the late James Madigan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, from 5:00-8:00PM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
