View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FAIRHAVEN – Ronald R. Dawson, 75, of Fairhaven, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at the Boston Medical Center. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Walter and Helen (Boucher) Dawson, he was the loving husband of Janice (Newell) Dawson to whom he was married fifty-six years.
Ron was a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard at Otis Air Force Base for thirty-five years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Fairhaven. Ron was active in the PTA and the Fairhaven Music Parents. He loved music and playing the keyboard.
In addition to his dear wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Jodi E. Dawson of Marion, MA, and Jilian B. and her husband, Gary Richard of Fairhaven; a sister, Loretta Farin of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, David Dawson Lee, Tanya B., Kyle G., and Kevin R. Richard; and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was the father of the late Jeffrey R. Dawson, and the brother of the late J. Raymond, Edward, Walter, Rita Jordan and L. May Joseph.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held NEXT Sunday, December 27, 2009, at 1:00PM at the First Congregational Church, 34 Center St., Fairhaven. (Service rescheduled due to snow emergency on 12/20).
