Lorraine R. (Giasson) Dufault, 83, of Somerset passed away on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of sixty-one years to Gerard J. Dufault.
Lorraine was born in Fall River the daughter of the late Napolean and Irene (Dupont) Giasson. She worked for the former Ames Department Store in Fall River for several years. Lorraine was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Somerset. She was a member of the ladies of Saint Anne's Sodality at the former Notre Dame Church in Fall River. Mrs. Dufault was also active in the cub scouts at one time serving as a den mother. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cross-stitching.
Survivors besides her husband are two daughters: Denise Tavares of Somerset, MA; Michelle Misterado of Fall River, MA; four sons: Gerard Dufault of Berkley, MA; Donald Dufault of Portsmouth, RI; Leonel Dufault of Westport, MA; Maurice Dufault of Tiverton, RI; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother: Donald Giasson of Texas; along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Germaine Cieslinski, Robert and Raymond Giasson.
Memorial Visitation for Lorraine will be held on MONDAY morning from 8am to 9am in the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Patrick Church, 306 South Street, Somerset, Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Fall River.
