August "Gus" Viveiros

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook WESTPORT – August "Gus" Viveiros, 57, of Westport, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Born in Fall River, the son of Joseph Viveiros of Fall River and the late Hilda (Couto) Viveiros, he was the husband of Carol (Healey) Viveiros, with whom he shared thirty-six years of marriage.
A graduate with the Class of 1969 of BMC Durfee High School, he attended Bristol Community College. Mr. Viveiros served his country with the United States Air Force for twenty years in communications, before retiring in 1993. He then worked at the Naval War College in Newport as a civil servant. Mr. Viveiros was a HAM Radio Operator. He was also an accomplished musician, and enjoyed all types of music and photography. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife and his father, Mr. Viveiros is survived by three sons, Brandon Viveiros of Arlington, Texas, Jaime Viveiros of Plattsburg, NY, and Timothy Viveiros of Westport, MA; a sister, Nancy Cote of Fall River; and four grandchildren. Kyle, Emily, Alyssa, and Maile. He was the father of the late August Viveiros, Jr.
Funeral Information
His funeral service will be held Sunday, August 3, 2008, at 3:00PM in the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service, from 1:00 to 3:00PM. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
