View Tribute and Sign Guestbook RAYNHAM – Marion R. (Hicks) Day, 95, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, in the Embassy House Nursing Home in Brockton. A Raynham resident for more than thirty-five years, she was born in Newton, MA, the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Levis) Hicks.
A graduate of Framingham State College, Mrs. Hicks was a school teacher in the Newton Public Schools and was also school teacher in the City of Taunton. She taught in the Mulcahy and Bennett Schools for over twenty years retiring in 1977. She then volunteered at the Leddy School for many years, reading to the students.
A communicant of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton and a member of Delta Kappa Kamma, the professional educational sorority, for many years she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
She was the wife of the late Charles F. Day and the mother of Deborah Brown of Bristol, RI, and Ellen Cugno of Miami, FL, and the grandmother of Christian Brown of Newton, Joshua Brown of Rumford, RI, Jennifer Catron of Harrison, OH, and Laura Cugno of FL, and the great-grandmother of Samantha Catron of OH; and the sister of Bertha Wainwright of RI and Fred Hicks of VT.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10:00AM.
