Helen Ann Metzger, 93, lifelong resident of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was the wife of the late George J. Metzger.
Helen was born in Attleboro and was a daughter of the late Joseph P and Elizabeth (Moore) Murphy.
Helen was employed as a cafeteria worker at Attleboro High School for many years. She was a member of many local clubs and organizations including the PEAL Club. Helen enjoyed cooking, trips to the beach and spending time with her family. Most of all, being a mother brought Helen great joy in life. She will be fondly remembered for her witty Irish sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Paul Metzger of Attleboro, Carol Canals and her husband Thomas of Waltham, Jane Nicoletti and her husband Peter and Patricia Metzger all of Attleboro, Susan Curry and her husband Kevin of Pawtucket, RI, and Christine Kirkpatrick and her husband Troy of Northfield, VT; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many caring nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Edward, Thomas, John and Joseph Murphy, Annie Donovan and Mary Moore.
Her family wishes to acknowledge there kind and compassionate care provided to Helen by the staff of the Life Care Center of Attleboro.
A Celebration of Helen’s life will be held at a later date.
