Olive L. Fernandes

August 11, 1934 - December 10, 2006

Olive L. (Bishop) Fernandes., 72, of New Boston Road formerly of Milton Street passed away Sunday December 10, 2006 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence she was the wife of fifty-two years to John Fernandes. Born in Providence, RI on August 11, 1934 the daughter of the late Joseph and Olive (Holden) Bishop.

She attended the accounting program at Bristol Community College, worked in the business office at the former Masons furniture, and then worked as the Chief Financial Officer for People Incorporated for twenty three years before retiring in 2000. Mrs. Fernandes was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Fall River and enjoyed crossword puzzles, and computers.

Survivors beside her husband of fifty-two years are three sisters Irene Couitt of Fall River, MA, Madeleine A. Enos of East Falmouth, MA, Beverly J. Stewart of Plymouth, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Norman C. Bishop.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 am from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA followed by a fuenral mass at 11am in Holy Name Church 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial is Private at the families request. CALLING HOURS THURSDAY MORNING 9-10am.
