Rose E. (Morro) Catabia

SWANSEA, MA – Rose E. (Morro) Catabia, 93, a life long resident of Swansea, died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at the Southpointe Nursing Center in Fall River. Born in Swansea, one of eleven children, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Silveria) Morro, she was the wife of the late Manuel Catabia.

Mrs. Catabia worked in the garment industry in Fall River for fifty years as a seamstress and retired on the family farm in Swansea.

She is survived by a daughter, Gael Catabia Ulisse of Milford, CT; two sons, Ronald Catabia of South Korea and Brian Catabia of Swansea; five grandchildren, Christian Ulisse and his wife, Aleksandra of Trumbull, CT, Rebecca Ulisse of New York City, Justin Ulisse of Bridgeport, CT, Hannah Catabia of Brookline, MA, and Joshua D’ Ambrosio of Nantucket, MA; three great- grandchildren, Tyler, Austin and Naomi Ulisse, all of Trumbull, CT; a sister, Florence Rapoza of Fall River, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 8:00am from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Saint John of God Church, 996 Brayton Ave., Somerset, with burial to follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Somerset Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
