View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – Jose daLuz, 84, of formerly of Rochester St., Fall River, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Madeira, Portugal, a son of the late Ernest & Isabel (Matos) Luz, he was the husband of Leonor (Moniz) daLuz.
Mr. daLuz worked as a diesel mechanic for more than sixty years before he retired. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, and a member of the St. John’s Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jose Antonio Luz (Lt. Col. USA, Retired) of Woodbridge VA, and Luis Luz of Fall River; two sisters, Angela Perreira and Cristina Leal, both of Sacramento, CA; and six grandchildren.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:30AM from THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30PM in St. Michael’s Church, 189 Essex Street, Fall River, with burial to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
