FALL RIVER – Henry J. Nasiff, 72, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Farris and Eleanor (Nagem) Nasiff, he was the husband of Claudette (Desjardins) Nasiff, to whom he was married forty-seven years.

A graduate of BMC Durfee High School with the Class of 1954, following graduation, Mr. Nasiff then served his country with the Untied States Army. After serving his country, he worked for the family business, the Nasiff Fruit Company in Fall River. He was also a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years, stationed at the main office in Fall River. He also drove a school bus for the Town of Swansea public school system, and was a member of the NALC Branch 51, and the Lebanon American Society.

In addition to this wife, Mr. Nasiff leaves a daughter, Rebecca C. Nasiff of Westport, MA; two sons, Michael J. Nasiff and his wife Nancy of Middletown, RI, and Daniel J. Nasiff and his wife Penny of Wills Point, Texas; a brother Farris “Luke” Nasiff of Fall River; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Jennifer, Jeremy, Elizabeth, and the late Dakota; and a great-grandson, Dylan. He was also the father of the late Henry J. Nasiff, Jr. and brother of the late Frederick Nasiff.

Funeral Information

His funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 8:45AM from THE HEBERT-HATHAWAY FUENRAL HOME, 945 S. Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of the Divine Liturgy at 10:00AM in Saint Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 North Eastern Ave., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial with MILITARY HONORS will follow the Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
