Anna R. (Souza) Rapoza

SOMERSET – Anna R. (Souza) Rapoza of Somerset died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the Somerset Ridge Center in Somerset. Born in Middleboro, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Correia) Souza, she was the wife of the late Joseph S. Rapoza.

Mrs. Rapoza worked for Needle Craft as a seamstress for many years before retiring several years ago. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church in Somerset, a member of the International Ladies Workers Union, and the Somerset Improvement Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Anna was an avid card player and storyteller, who enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, and taking trips to Foxwoods.

Mrs. Rapoza leaves a sister, Hilda Petrowski of Bridgewater, MA; two grandsons, Todd Pedersen of Fall River and Scott Pedersen of Pennsylvania; a great-grandson, Cory; a son-in-law, Dan Pedersen of Fall River, MA; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Ruthann Pedersen, and the sister of the late Mary Pierce, Sadie Gonsalves, Joseph and John Souza.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS 900 Buffinton St., SOMERSET, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours with Video Photo Album will be held Tuesday, April 14, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
