View Tribute and Sign Guestbook NEW BEDFORD – Simone (Hebert) Langelier, 82, of New Bedford, died after a long illness on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Brandon Woods of New Bedford. She was the widow of Orval F. Langelier. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Marie (Marcotte) Hebert, she was a lifelong resident of the city and former communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
She worked many years ago as a stitcher at various manufacturers until her retirement from Jemy Sportswear. She was a volunteer at the Union Hospital for about fifteen years and enjoyed reading and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Robert O. Langelier and his wife Diane of Dartmouth; a daughter, Carol N. King and her husband Herb of Dartmouth; two grandchildren, Debbie Gonsalves and her husband Brian and Stacie King; two great grand-daughters, Amanda Gonsalves and Kaylee King; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Langelier was the last of nine children.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Friday, May 9, 2008. at 8:00AM from THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, New Bedford. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery #2, New Bedford. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 8, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
