View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER, MA – Doris (Michaud) Scottson, 93, of Fall River, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the Country Gardens Skilled Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Swansea, MA. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Henri and Josephine (Hamel) Michaud, she was the wife of the late Allan Scottson.
Mrs. Scottson worked as a spinner for Kerr Thread Mills and as a presser for Slade Laundry, retiring in 1954. Doris was a communicant of Saint Anne’s Church and a former member of Cardinal Medeiros Towers Hand Club and the Salvation Army. She was very active at one time with the nursing home day care program.
She leaves two daughters, Jeanne M. Laureanno and her husband Frank Jr., and Millie Donato and her husband Angelo, all of Fall River; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Irene Rapoza, Lillian Vieira, Florida Goulet, Leo, Ferdinand, Joseph, Alfred and Ovila Michaud.
Funeral Information
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 8:00AM, from the HEBERT-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 945 S. Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Saint Anne’s Church, South Main St., Fall River, with burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Friday, December 18, from 3:00-6:00PM in the funeral home.
