DIGHTON – Lester F. Allen, III, 42, died suddenly in Millinocket, Maine, Sunday, May 4, 2008, while on his annual salmon fishing trip with friends. Born in Fall River, the son of Lester F. and Anne-Marie (Jones) Allen, II, of Dighton, he was a graduate with the Class of 1985 of the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, where he lettered in football his senior year. Mr. Allen attended the Hall Institute in Pawtucket, RI, where he received certification in drafting. For the past six years he was employed as a field technician by Shaw’s Environmental in Franklin. He was actively associated with the Section “8” Paint Ball Club in RI. He was a member of the Pit Crew of Race Car # 14 at the Seekonk Raceway, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed the outdoors, was a enthusiastic football baseball fan, and he enjoyed the study of and reading about history. Mr. Allen was the brother of Jean-Marie Allen of Dighton and Chad W. Allen of Fall River. Funeral InformationVisiting hours will be in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave., (Route 138 South), Taunton, Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 9:00 to 11:00AM, with a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Interment, however, will be private and will be scheduled at a later date in the Assonet Burying Grounds.
