Cecile T. (Ducharme) Carroll

Cecile T. (Ducharme) Carroll, 76, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of forty-three years to Donald J. Carroll.
Cecile was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Leo and Imelda (Canuel) Ducharme. She was a graduate of Jesus-Marie Academy, class of 1959. Cecile then graduated from the Saint Anne’s Hospital School Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1962. Mrs. Carroll began working at Saint Anne’s Hospital and then at Charlton Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2009. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling with her husband cross country in their mobile home, and to Naples, FL for winters.
Survivors beside her husband are two daughters: Amy E. Carroll of Fall River and Meaghan H. Carroll of Fall River; three step daughters: Susan A. Simard (Ken Pereira) Somerset; Nancy E. Vezina (Tom Ryan) of Fall River; and Martha J. Hyland and her husband Kim of Fairhaven; three grandchildren: Beth Vezina-Raposa and her husband David of Fall River, Andrea Reagan and her husband Brenden of Somerset; and Matthew Simard of Fall River; two great grandchildren: Benjamin and Parker Reagan; two brothers: Ronald Ducharme and his wife Patricia of Fall River; and Robert Ducharme and his wife Anita of Stafford Springs, CT; along with several nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was the mother in law of the late Stephen Vezina.
The family wishes to thank Southcoast VNA for exceptional care, especially Sally, Lynn, and Stephanie.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 9am, from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, Spring Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be privately held at a later date.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 4-7pm, in the funeral home.
