ATTLEBORO – Frank R. Lailer, 68, of Rita Drive, Attleboro, died Friday, June 25, 2010, at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Jean M. (Smith) Wright, to whom he married December 27, 2004. Born in Malden, the son of the late Robert and Louise (Brackett) Lailer, he was raised in Malden and resided many years in Raynham and Hanson.

A resident of Attleboro for the past ten years, Mr. Lailer was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He spent his working life as a professional truck driver, working for several businesses and also himself. He was also employed by NETTS as an instructor and as a courier for Clinical Labs in Mansfield before retiring.

Mr. Lailer was a very actively involved member of the First Baptist Church in Attleboro. He served the church in numerous capacities, particularly as a trustee and deacon. He was longtime volunteer for the Food ‘n Friends program with the Attleboro Council of Churches. Frank will be remembered as a very generous man who gave of himself to others in any way he could. He was a devoted husband and family man and loved to travel.

In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by a step-daughter, Kelly Morris, and her husband Scott, of Attleboro; and four grandchildren, Antonio, Daniel, Kristen, and Patrick. He was the father of the late Gary Lailer and the brother of the late Diane Lailer.

Funeral Information

His memorial service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church, 118 South Main St. Attleboro. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:45 am, prior to the funeral service, in THE FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro. Burial will be private.
