View Tribute and Sign Guestbook NEW BEDFORD – Mary (Viveiros) Rezendes-Brown, 93, of Fairhaven, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a long illness. She was the wife of Jesse Brown and the late Joseph Rezendes. Born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Manuel and the late Joaquina (Costa) Viveiros, she was a lifelong resident of the town and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church.
Mary was an inspector in the golf division of the Acushnet Company for many years until her retirement in 1980. She loved to take long walks and work in her garden and yard.
She is survived by her husband; two sisters, Alice Nazarchyk and Lillian Felix, both of Fairhaven; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was the sister of the late Manuel, Joseph, Ernest, Antone, John and William Viveiros and Irene Silvia.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 8:00 AM from THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven, with interment in St. John’s Cemetery, New Bedford.
