Lorraine R. (Vital) Delaney, 67, of Stevens Road., in Swansea passed away suddenly on September 5, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of fifty years to William F. Delaney Sr. Born in Fall River, MA on September 11, 1938 the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Rego) Vital.

She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School class of 1956, after graduation she worked as a bookkeeper for the former Trina Mills, and Shepherd Clothing. She retired in 2001. Mrs. Delaney was a communicant of Saint Louis de France Church, and a member of the VFW post 8500 Women's auxiliary, and the greater Fall River Diabetes Association. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors beside her husband of fifty years are a son William F. Delaney Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Swansea, a daughter Maureen Johnson and her husband Robert of Las Vegas, two brothers Manuel Vital of Florida Everett Vital of California three grandchildren Christopher, William III, Patrick, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Colleen Neher and sister of the late Frank Vital.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 9am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Louis de France Church 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery Swansea. Calling hours with a video photo album will be held Friday, September 8, 2006 from 4-7pm.
