SOMERSET – Arthur U. Noiseux, 82, of Somerset passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Somerset Ridge Center in Somerset. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Arthur and Diana (LeBlanc) Noiseux, he was the husband of Carol (Almeida) Noiseux, and the late Frances E. (Karnasiewicz) Noiseux.

Having attended Somerset High School, Mr. Noiseux served his country during WWII with the United States Navy aboard the USS Bunkerhill. He was involved in eleven major battles, and was a purple heart recipient. Following his military service, he returned home to work as an electrician for the former Slader Paper Box Company for forty years, retiring in 1992.

He was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church in Somerset for many years, and was also a member of the VFW Post 8500 in Somerset, the American Legion, and the Somerset Progressive Club.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Noiseux leaves a daughter, Diane S. Noiseux-Corrao and her husband Lee of Little Compton, RI; a son, David A. Noiseux of Somerset; a brother, Normand Noiseux of Westport, MA; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, and Thomas. He was the brother of the late Jacqueline Roy.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow the funeral Mass with MILITARY HONORS in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Somerset.
