Clifford G. Johnson., 81, of Massasoit Avenue in Swansea passed away Monday, September 4, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of fifty-eight years to Jeannette R. (Ouellette) Johnson. Born in Somerville, MA on June 9, 1925 the son of the late Clifford R. and Hazel (Mason) Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a veteran of WWII with the United States Navy, after the war he worked as an apprentice maintenance worker for the former Regis Paper Company in East Providence, RI for twenty five years, and also for many years at the former Anne & Hope Store in Seekonk before retiring in 1994. Clifford was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea, and enjoyed salt water fishing, being outdoors, spending time with his family, and was an avid Red sox fan.

Survivors beside his wife of fifty eight years are a daughter Cheryl A. Roy and her husband Leo of Swansea. A brother Jackie Johnson of Swansea. A granddaughter Kelly A. Roy of Swansea and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert, Stanley, and Larry “Buster” Mason, also the grandfather of the late Kyle C. Roy.

Funeral Information

His Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 11am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30am in Saint Louis de France Church 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. MEMORIAL VISITATION PRIOR TO MEMORIAL SERVICE FROM 9:30am to 11:00am. Burial is Private at the Families request.
