View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Evelyn M. (Fernades) Tooker, 85, died suddenly in the emergency room at Morton Hospital in Taunton on Sunday, July 1, 2007, after being taken ill. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Furtado) Fernandes, she was the wife of the late Roland S. Tooker.
Educated in the Taunton Public Schools, Mrs. Tooker was a resident of Clinton Street since 1948. She worked as an inspector and packer at Princess House for over fifteen years, prior to which, she was employed at Reed and Barton. She was an avid animal lover and bird watcher. She enjoyed gardening .
Mrs. Tooker leaves her children, Lois Tooker and Lee Wiggs of Groton, MA, and Kathleen Hayes and her husband Raymond of Jefferson, Maine. She was also the mother of the late Paul Tooker, TFD (ret). She was the grandmother of Brian and Jenny Hayes of Maine and the aunt of several including Lynn Delgado of Taunton.
Funeral Information
Her funeral service will be held in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00-8:00PM.
