Walter A. Jones

Walter A. Jones, 84, of North Dighton, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Maria G. (Van Der Zwalmen) Jones.
Walter was born in Newport, the son of the late John and Janette (McFadden) Jones. He served his country during the Korean War with the United States Air Force. Walter worked as an engineer for Raytheon for many years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Somerset Sportsmen Club. Walter was a past master of the Kind David Lodge AF & AM. in Taunton. He was a reserve Dighton Police Officer and retired from the Massachusetts National Guard stationed in Rehoboth.
Survivors are a daughter: Nancy J. Aguiar and her husband Ronald of Dighton; a son: Arthur E. Jones and his companion Lori Frizado of Wrentham; three grandchildren: Ronnie Aguiar of Dighton; Rachel Aguiar of Dighton; Ryan Jones of Wrentham; a sister: Carol McMurray of Homosassa, FL; along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Jones and Stanley Jones.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, from 4-7pm, in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Services and Burial will be privately held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne.
