TAUNTON – Francis N. Paige, Sr., who would have turned eighty-seven years of age this coming Thursday, died Monday, December 15, 2008, in Morton Hospital, Taunton. Born in Taunton, the son of the late Forrest and Beatrice (Francis) Paige, he was educated in the Taunton Public Schools and was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II, having participated in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe.

Mr. Paige was the head cook at the Taunton State Hospital for over twenty-four years before retiring. He also was employed at Weir Stove, Mason Box and Geilich Tannery. He was a member of the VFW Post 611 in Taunton and a member of the “Cootties” of the American Legion.

He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Enos) Paige and the father of Raymond Paige and his wife Mary of Texas; Ronald Paige of Taunton, Francis Paige of Taunton, and David Paige and his wife Tonia of Norton. He was the grandfather of eight. He was the brother of Forrest Paige of Taunton and the late Elizabeth and Lawrence.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral from THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10:00AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place Friday, December 19, from 4:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
