Andrew J. Owens Sr.

ATTLEBORO – Andrew J. Owens Sr., 76, of Hodges Street, formerly of James Street, Attleboro, died on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the Veterans Hospital in Brockton. Born in Newton, Kansas, the son of the late Andrew J. and Sara (Warhurst) Owens, he was the husband of the late Bonnie L. (Kinnan) Owens.

Mr. Owens served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Egan and Peck in Mansfield, MA, for more than thirty-years as a carpenter. He also worked as a driver for Kisslen Transportation for the last five years. He was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in Attleboro.

He leaves four sons, Andrew J. Owens Jr., Thomas L. Owens Sr., Michael W. Owens, all of Attleboro, and Jack H. Owens of London, Kentucky; four daughters, Bonnie B. Hathaway and Virginia B. “Ginger” Owens, both of Attleboro, Tina M. Brock of Corbin, Kentucky, and Donna L. Moore of Cumberland, R.I.; two sisters, Nora Coelho of North Attleboro, and Caroline Harness of Marianville, Missouri; twenty-four grandchildren and thirteen great grand-children, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 27, 2007, at 11:00AM in the FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, South Main Street, Route 152. Calling Hours will be held Friday morning from 9:00-11:00AM in the funeral home preceding the funeral service.
