TAUNTON – Kathleen M. (Dawkins) Volkman, 75, died at home Friday, February 8, 2008. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (O’Connor) Dawkins, she was the widow of the late Charles E. Volkman.

Educated in New York City Public Schools, she received her BA from the College of New Rochelle in NYC. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being a wife and mother. A Taunton resident for forty-four years, she was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church and was formerly a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton.

Mrs. Volkman was the mother of Richard Volkman and his wife Kathy of Taunton, Stephen Volkman and his wife Judy of NYC, and Neil Volkman and his wife Robin of Raynham. She was also the grandmother of Sarah, Amy, Michael, Sharlene and Nicole. She was the sister of Dorothy Smith and Donald Dawkins, both of FL.

Funeral Information

A family memorial Mass was held on Monday in St. Paul’s Church and the interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
