Ella G. Botelho, 98, of Westport, passed away, Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
Ella was born in Dartmouth and was a daughter of the late Francis Xavier and Alpheda (Fortin) Bussiere.
Ella was employed at the former Merit manufacturing, in Fall River, for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. George Church, in Westport, past president and activities director of the Melody Senior Club, past president of the O’Brien Tenants Association and served on the board of directors for the Old Colony Railroad. Ella also volunteered at the Share Foundation, in Dartmouth, and enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Blanchette and her husband Eddie of Fairhaven, Patricia Machado-Tavares of Dartmouth and Geraldine Kardosz and her husband John of Bradenton, FL; sisters, Lucille Simas of Westport and Jeanne Croteau of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Denise Mello and her husband Scott, Scott Blanchette, Kristine Dallaire, Mark Aguiar, Kimberly Kardosz and Melissa Aguiar; great granddaughter Hannah Rae; great grandsons, “her boys”, Adam and Tyler; many nieces and nephews and a large loving extended family.
She was the sister of the late Gerard and Armand Bussiere, Olivine Vaillancourt and Jacqueline Croteau.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 8:30am, from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017, for 5-8pm, in the funeral home.
