SWANSEA – Cynthia D. (Ward) Pavao, 60, of Swansea, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. The daughter of Carl and the late Janet (Jordan) Ward, she was born in Downey, CA, and grew up in nearby Bellflower, CA. She moved to Massachusetts soon after marrying her husband Ralph Pavao, and lived in Swansea for the past thirty-five years. The couple celebrated their forty-first wedding anniversary in January 2008. A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Pavao enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. She raised three daughters as a homemaker and spent her final years spoiling her two grandchildren, who knew her affectionately as their “Kisses Grandma”. She will also be missed by her church family at the Crossroads Bible Chapel in North Dartmouth, who enjoyed both her warm hospitality and delicious cooking for many years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Shelly (Pavao) Sylvia of New Bedford, and Shana Pavao and Shaleen (Pavao) Albert, both of Swansea; two sons-in–law, Alec Sylvia of New Bedford and Glen Albert of Swansea; her father, Carl Ward of Bellflower, CA; a sister, Carleen Wellman of Franklin, TN; a brother, Paul Ward of Bellflower, CA; two grandchildren, Felicity and Luke Sylvia of New Bedford; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral InformationHer funeral service will be held Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 9:00AM in THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, with burial to follow in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Vinnicum Rd., Swansea.
