View Tribute and Sign Guestbook CUMBERLAND – Martha M. (Grenon) Parenteau, 96, of Quail Street, Woonsocket, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at The Landmark Hospital in Woonsocket. Born in St. Simon P.Q., Canada, a daughter of the late Delphis & Louisia (Valcourt) Greneon, she was the wife of the late Aram Parenteau.
A resident of Cumberland since moving from Woonsocket in 1951, Mrs. Parenteau was a spooler for many years at the Woonsocket Worsted mills before retiring. She was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church, Cumberland.
Mrs. Parenteau is survived by a son, Donald Parenteau of Cumberland; a daughter, Claire Parenteau of Cumberland; three grandchildren, Tina Altieri, Michelle Portrzeba, and Danielle Dragon; five great- grandchildren, Allan Altieri, Daniel Altieri, Monique Portrzeba, Rebecca Portrzeba, and Tristan Dragon; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her fourteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Monday, May 7, 2007, at 8:30AM from THE MENARD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00–8:00PM.
