View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON / RAYNHAM – Marie J. (Schaaf) Tobin, 93, formerly of Raynham, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Morton Hospital in Taunton. Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Brown) Schaaf, she was the widow of William Tobin
Educated in the Boston Public Schools, she and her family moved to Raynham in 1954. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Town of Raynham School Department, having worked there for over twenty years.
Marie was actively involved with the Food Pantry in Raynham, and was a member of the Senior Citizens of Raynham, and a member of the bowling league. She was very proud of the fact that she was still driving well into her late 80’s.
She was the mother of Donna Wolohojian and her husband George of Rockville, MD, William Tobin, Jr., and his wife Beth of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robert Tobin and his wife Doreen of Marshfield, MA, George Tobin and his wife Doris of Eagle Lake, ME, Joseph Tobin and his wife Cathy of Clearwater, FL, and Richard Tobin and his wife Linda of Auburn, CA. Marie was the grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother of several, including Hannah and Emily Tobin. She was the sister of Florence and Ruth, both of Stoughton, and Dorothy of California, and the sister of the late Katherine Norton, Avy Dunn, Jane Woodworth, John, George, and Edward Schaaf.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 1:00PM, with interment to follow in the Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:oo p.m. prior to the service.
