Roberta F. (Swartz) Kirby

MALDEN, MA/ NORTON, MA – Roberta F. (Swartz) Kirby, 67, of Norton, MA, formerly of Malden, MA, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. Born in Malden, the daughter of the late Jack and Esther (Lerman) Swartz, she was the wife of the late Robert C. Kirby.

A 1958 graduate of Malden High School, Roberta worked as a hairdresser for the Rivera Hair Salon in Revere for several years. She then worked for the Malden School Department as a teacher’s assistant for over ten years. Mrs. Kirby was very involved with PTA and the school committee while in Malden. She loved children, was an avid ten pin bowler and an accomplished artist, who painted with oil and water colors.

Mrs. Kirby leaves a daughter, Denise T. Reha of Taunton, MA; a son, Keith R. Kirby of Weymouth, MA; a brother, Lenny Swartz of Florida; and three grandchildren, Brody, Owen and Lydia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be held Sunday, April 25, 2010, at 2:00pm in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend; burial will be private at the request of the family. A memorial observance will be held Sunday from 3:30 to 6:00pm at 252 Tremont St., Taunton, MA.
